Fax Software

Does Windows XP Professional have a built-in fax
software? Was wondering if we could take a PC with
Windows XP Pro and a modem and receive faxes on the PC but
send faxes from a regular fax machine. Can you connect
the same line for the fax machine through the modem and
accomplish this?

Yes it does and it should be under Accessories, Communications. If it's not
there go to the control panel, add/remove software and pick add/remove
windows components and find it there.

Go to START then HELP AND SUPPORT, select Printing and Faxing from the Help
Topic list and then select Faxing. You can then read all about it - note
that the fax applet is not installed by default during the OS installation.
