Fax Software

I have tried to install the Microsoft Fax software on my PC, but it asks me
to insert the XP CD Rom. The problem I have is that my ROM drive is broken,
can I download the small file anywhere?

This leads on to my next question: have recently burned lots of DVD's (15)
and now my ROM drive does not recognise any disks/Autoplay or anything. I
vant even hear it spin. Have I cooked it?

If it's not reading any disks, then either the laser is very dirty or yes,
it has died. 15 is not a lot of DVDs to burn though..... on my old DVD-RW,
I must have gone through 500+ before it started giving errors. It's still
working fine as a DVD ROM in my server though obviously a server o/s doesn't
need to burn a lot of DVDs very often.

Thankfully DVD burners are now a lot cheaper than they used to be:
