Any recommendations? I want to fax from a file, not from a scanner.

TIA

What operating system? WinXP comes with a fax program that works pretty
well.

Does it? What is it called? I don't see it anywhere in
Accessories>Communications, or anywhere else.

Hmmm. Mine is under "All Programs" on the Start menu, then "Accessories,"
then "Communications," and finally "Fax." I don't recall if this was one of
those things you had to deliberately install from the Win CD.

Start/Printers and Faxes/Set up faxing (right under Add a printer).

Control Panel / Add or Remove Programs / Add/Remove Windows Components and
tick 'Fax Services'. Insert Windows XP installation disk and away you go.

Depending on your country (I see you are in UK) the utility might not
recognise your dial tone as valid but you can override this.

Hope this helps.

Win XP fax installs by default in Win XP Pro, but as has been mentioned
you have to install it separately in the home version. It works very well!
