Fax sends an extra blank page

Hi all. the document, the fax cover and an extra blank page are sent,
this happens only when I fax using the scanner (copy to fax) option. It
never happens when I fax using an application. I always make sure that copy
settings (# of copies) is set to minimum(1). Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks for answering, I'm using XP fax, I read the article you posted, I
tried faxing without a cover page, same thing happened, it sent a blank page,
I guess it's a question for Epson after all. Thanks again

Sounds like a question for Epson. Windows XP Fax eliminated this behavior
long ago.

Probably so. This was a common problem when faxing from Outlook, but it was
fixed with Windows XP Fax. You seem to be faxing from a non-Microsoft
product.

I have the same problem. I use an EPSON STYLUS 6400 combo
fax/scanner/printer. Whenever I use the fax portion, an extra page is always
tacked on the the end of the fax. It is wasteful, not to mention annoying.

How is this related to Windows XP Fax?

I contacted EPSON about this per your advice to Woodsman. EPSON insists that
this is a fax problem and must be handled by Microsoft. They recommend
Microsoft Fax Services.

I have Windows XP with Service Pack 2. Just a few minutes ago, I
uninstalled Fax Services and then reinstalled Fax Services. I have the same
result; an extra page is tacked on the back of the fax. Again, this is
using the "Copy to Fax" function of the EPSON CX6400.

If I use the Send to function of WORD and send it to a fax recipient then
there is no extra page tacked on the back of the fax.

So, I am not sure what to do. I assume that I am using Windows XP Fax
Services since I am running Windows XP

Interesting theory, since you are not using Windows XP Fax. How did they
explain that?
I have no repros with Windows XP Fax.
