Fax ringing when phone call comes in

Ringing out of control

Hi! I'd appreciate if anyone can help probably a quick question: I set my fax
machine up but the fax ringing comes on when a phone call comes in and I
can't receive any phone call messages. I have two different phone and fax
numbers. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!

Consult your fax machine's manual. This question has nothing to do with
Windows XP Fax.
You should probably hook your fax machine up to your fax phone line.

You say you have a different phone and fax number but do you have two physical
lines or is the FAX number a distinctive ring number? If you have only one line
but two numbers you need to set your FAX machine to recognise distinctive ring
(sometimes called special ring). See your manual for instructions.
