Favorites have disappeared IE 6 and Win XP Pro

We had to give group policy permissions for our clients in order for a patch to be installed. When they were given Admin rights their Favorites disappeared. Just like they were logged in as a new user. Searched for the .url file and the old ones are not there, the old favorites are no where to be found

Any ideas as to how to find them again would be really appreciate

Searched for what .url file?
Favorites are held in a Favorites folder. Did you search for such a
folder?
