Currently using SBC Yahoo! DSL for ISP, but did have
Earthlink 3-4 years ago. Never had the issue until about
2 weeks ago, but yes the registry settings are as directed
and when I close IE6 and re-start it, the Favorites are
gone.
A re-check of the registry setting indicates those are
still intact, but my Favorites folder is empty.
DSL has some self-diagnostic software for internet
connection that I'm using, but I didn't have the problem
right away or even immediately after I upgraded to IE6,
which was done after DSL install.

Jonathan,
The entries were set correctly and becomes empty after a
reboot? And, are you using any software from your ISP.
We've seen Earthlink's program causes Favorites path to
change automatically to earthlink's favorites folder.
Using any program of that sort?

Ok. I confirmed the entries at both HKEY_CURRENT_USER and
HKEY_USERS as such when I shut down earlier and when I
rebooted 1/2 an hour ago, Favorites shows <Empty>. If you
like, feel free to email me with response. often ;-
): The correct value is: "C:\Windows\Favorites" for both
the keys.

Set the Favorites path to : %USERPROFILE%\Favorites
Restart Internet Explorer. The Shell Folders value will

The contents of my "favorites" folder in IE6 have

how to resolve this?
