Favorites contents to another HD

I need to move my Favorites bookmarks from a dying HD to
another HD in the system. But Favorites seems to be more
than just a folder. Could someone describe the procedure
to move the contents of the Favorites folder to the Favorites
folder in another HD? When I try to use the Transfer Wizard,
there seems more to it than just copying 'n pasting from one
Favorites folder to another Favorites folder.

Assuming Internet Explorer favorites:

In IE:
File --> Import and Export

Then follow the wizard..

<sigh> Following the Wizard is part of my question.
When I use the Wizard, it asks for a source address.
I give it the source address as:
F:\Documents and Settings\AdminName\Favorites,
and it replies with an error message that says:
"Please enter a valid URL or complete path and file name."

Is there something wrong with
F:\Documents and Settings\AdminName\Favorites?

It should be defaulting to the favorites folder for the source..
When i run (on several machines to be sure) the Import and Export -> Export
Favorites.. The next window shows only my favorites and sub-folders.

BTW - all favorites are are files in a folder structure.. You can copy the
folder and all files/subfolders to another machine.
You just gave the path to the main folder..

My error! I had tried simply copying the Favorites folder,
but since the two Favorites folders were almost identical
because the target Favorites was derived from a HD cloning
that I did a couple months ago, my finding the old entries in
the target Favorites made me think the copy hadn't succeeded.
In reality, all the identical old entries had been replaced by the
copy/paste, and those few which had been changed merely
remained. In short, simple Copy/Paste had worked for the
Favorites folder.
