fatal errors

What exactly does it mean and how do I fix a file that is
crosslinked?
I guess this is a fatal error
doc and settings\Mary\cookies\mary@at dmt [1].txt is
crosslinked at llocation 1771323

Use Scandisk to fix crosslinked files. My Computer, right
click c: drive, properties, tools, check now.
