fatal error

I have just downloaded updates from MS to change from ie5
to ie6 but now I sometimes get the message "Fatal error:
Cannot redeclare class commonitem" when I click on a link
on certain web pages. Any suggestions?

Close all windows, Firewall and security programs.

Then repair IE
Add/Remove programs/MS/IE/repair....
