fatal error: cannot clean temporary directory

I get the message, fatal error: cannot clean temporary directory every time i
start up Outlook

Alright, if you need some help troubleshooting this issue provide some
details on your configuration and just ask.

I am running Windows xp and have previously had no trouble with the system or
Outlook-it just started happening out of the blue. Hardware is a Dell
Precision 650 workstation with a xeon processor.
