outlook fatal error

I have a user that is getting a fatal error message in outlook. The error is
random. User had office 2002 installed and was upgraded to 2003 and is now
getting this error. The error itself says" A fatal error has occurred in
Outlook. The data in your envelope has been lost, but your document is still
available." Another error popup that they are getting says "microsoft office
outlook has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the
inconvenience." and then shutdowns outlook and restarts it. Any suggestions
on what may be causing this.

Does the user have a PST? PST's from older versions of Outlook cannot be read
by Outlook 2003:

Did you check the application event viewer for any Office or Outlook related
errors? Look for source and eventID.
