FAT32 to NTFS

i have recently purchased laptop, its win2000 pre
installed with FAT32 file system, how to change to NTFS
file system without re-installing OS without effecting any
istalled softwares with FAT32 file system, some one please
help me.

more specifically

start> run.. cmd ENTE

in the dos window typ
convert c: /FS:NTFS
ENTER

will conversion effect existing installed softwares other
than OS...if so..how to resolve it, please help me.

No - but it's good to make a backup first.
