Fast user switching causes black screen and hangs

Before you all roll your eyes and say "not another one" have read through
all the posts referring to this problem and still cannot solve my issue.

Until a few days ago fast user switching was working fine but now when it is
enabled I get the following problems:

system goes to welcome screen
attempt to logon as another user
system appears to start then goes to black screen
returns to welcome screen with "loading personal settings......"
goes to black screen
hear the windows logon sound then nothing

I have check terminal services and registry keys mentioned in other posts.

I have disabled fast user switdhing and the system seems to be working fine
but really would like to enable it again.

Any help would be really appreciated

Have you made any changes to your pagefile settings? Windows XP uses
the pagefile to roll out the user data from the previous user when
switching, and if you have set a small maximum size limit on the
pagefile this might cause this type of behavior.

Good luck

I will check what the page size is but I have not made any changes to it.
I will get back to you on that one. Tks Ron
