Far Cry crashing

Hi
I am having trouble playing Far Cry. It seems to randomly crash to blue
screen and gives the error: DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL.
I have installed the game patch and changed the graphic card drivers but it
still crashes! Can someone please help me as it is driving me nuts and if it
goes on much longer I will end up being institutionalised!!

My reply is at the bottom of your sent message:

Well, seeing as you've already changed the drivers and installed any
patches...

Okay... The drivers are the absolute latest from the manufacturer? Go right
to your video card manufacturer's site and see if they're using new ones. If
they have beta drivers you can try those to.

Did the game work without the patch? If so then see if you can remove it.

Is Windows updated all the way? Do you have each major update installed from
the Windows update site? Go there manually to check and see.

Finally, this one doesn't sound logical really but it's worth a shot, (I'm
not a gamer really but I understand that gamers are pretty much all about
speed). Open your display properties from the control panel, click on the
settings tab, advanced tab, and on troubleshoot... Now try to turn the
acceleration down a notch or two to see if that helps.

Here's an interesting link I came across while checking to see what I might
offer for additional help:

Note the part about lowering their AGP in their BIOS. That's not a step I'd
start with but it's an option that you can keep in mind.

Take alook at your memory.... take it out and put in in a different slot, and
if you can hold of one try using other ram. On your error message there
should be some thing like 0x0000009 write it down and google it... Good luck!
