Is it true that the WMM supplied with some editions of Vista can capture
direct from any webcam?

Or just some, or none?
 
my rule of thumb for Vista's Movie Maker is 'none' for all editions.... but
that doesn't mean you can't do it in Vista with other apps.
 
That's what I thought - I am being told the contrary in the general ng, and
have no working webcam to test just now...
 
From WMM2.6 help...

Why am I unable to import video from my Web camera or analog video source?
Import Video does not support importing video from a Web camera or analog
video source such as a VCR. To use video from your Web camera, you can use
the software that comes with the camera to record the video to your
computer.

Guess I was right after all...
