Failure to Get Past Startup

Windows XP on my Thoshiba Harman/Kardon is able to open the startup screen
but not been able to get past it. I am able to opt in via Safe Mode but
cannot enter normally.

Running XP with Service Pack 2 (070227).

The Boot Menu says something about diversion(1), is this correct?

In safe mode, use system restore to take the machine back to the last day it
worked properly

No. I would edit the choice out of boot.ini, if possible.
