failing XP install at 34 mins ? cause

And ideas please? I've built a new system and can't
complete Xp installation. They system freezes at 34 mins as
'device drivers' are being downloaded. I've tried 2
different XP discs...same error. I've reformated the hard
drive twice...same error.
I've a AOPEN AX4T socket 423 Pentium 4 motherboard, with
512 rambus, and a 1.6 Pentium 4. 120Gb Hard drive.
The mother board boots up find, and everything goes
swimmingly until the screen freezes. Sometimes the screen
goes blank for a couple of seconds before freezing. The
processor is running at 42 degrees, and I've tried default
BIOS etc... no result.
any ideas anyone?...

Also make sure you have a known good powersupply And the latest BIOS for
your whitebox
