Failed to complete installation as envisaged in the script

Hi All,

I am trying to install a piece of software. When It gets to the
configuring Windows Installer, I get the following error:

1628: Failed to complete installation as envisaged in the script

I found an old reference to 1628 and clean out my temp file and
upgraded my windows installer. The same installation file
(.exe) works on other computers.

Anyone know what is going on with the Windows Installer?
Is "envisaged" even a real word?

Many thanks,
-T

What software?
Version as well...

What are you attempting to install onto?
Windows XP WHAT? What service pack level and patch level?

The search I did brought this up:

As far as your last question:

Hi Shenan,

I am not allowed to say what software at the moment.
Sorry. I know it makes things hard to work with.
I was hoping it was a generic "Installer" message
that someone would recognize.

XP-sp2

Found the "installshield link". No joy.

I guess it is a "real" word. (I though for a second
it may be a "marketing" word.)

I appreciate your help.
