I tried to repair C:\WINNT, XP SP1. When I reboot on
that version, I get XP splash screen and then a black
screen with a cursor arrow in it and nothing happens.
I installed a new version of XP in C:\WINDOWS and can
access that version of XP. However, everything in MY
DOCUMENTS folder from C:\WINNT is gone. There is
C:\DOCUMENT AND SETTINGS\OWNER folder from the C:\WINNT
version, but I cannot access it or change its
attributes. There is a folder C:\DOCUMENT AND
SETTINGS\OWNER.BOB-BYNBWQJM5JB which is associated with
the C:\WINDOWS version, but none of my documents or
pictures or music is there.
I am assuming it went bye-bye with the failed repair. Is
there anyway to recover what waas in the original OWNER's
folder?
Please reply also to my email address if you would not
mind.
Thanks - Bob
PS - No I did not back up anything!!
