Trying to install XP Pro.
Boot from CD
runs through "setup is loading files"
hangs on "setup is installing windows"

IF you have an Athlon system, and IF it is a complete
install to a newly formatted drive, and IF you have two
hard drives, this happens all the time.

Disconnect your slave drive, configure your master as
master only.

You should be able to install with no other problem. Once
XP is running, reconnect your slave. It will find it fine.

If the other response does not apply to your situation, reinstall your
previous operating system, then while at the Windows desktop, place the XP
CD in the drive, when the setup screen appears, select "Check system
compatibility," the report it generates may give a clue as to the source of
the issue.

Thanks Mike,
I found it for some reason the bios needed to be reset.
Thanks again

You're welcome, glad you got it worked out.
