Factory Setting / System Restore

Guest

I just got a computer from a previous owner, and I want to restore it to
factory settings. Meaning, erase all files and all stored data and settings
to default factoy settings. System restore doesn't seem to be enough. Any
help?

Go to the web site of the computer manufacturer. Look up your model number
in the support area. See what they have to say. You may have all you need on
another partition (or not). You may have to purchase their package to make
it happen. You can always buy Windows XP at a retail store and install it
fresh on your computer.

Depending on "what" CDs you got with the system, either do a "System
Recoveery" or re-install Windows.

If you did not get CDs with the computer, you will need to get yourself a
"legal" retail version of XP.
