Extremely slow web browsing

I started having problems with slow web browsing on my desktop computer a few
days ago. I have a Westell Wirespeed DSL modem going into a D-Link DI624
wireless router. I have my desktop running Win XP Home connected to the WAN
on the router. My laptop (also Win XP)still browses at the regular speed
with this setup, however my desktop browser is running really slow.

I have tried connecting the modem directly to my desktop (bypassing the
router) and it still runs slow. That leads me to believe the problem is on
my desktop computer, not the connections, modem, or router.

My desktop network shows it is receiving 100Mbps.

I have updated my Norton AV and Spybot. I ran both with no problems
showing. I have cleaned out my temporary internet files, cookies, history,
etc. and still nothing. Today I downloaded the new Service PAck 2 hoping
that would fix it, but it has not.

When I called my computer manufacturere help line, they had me clean disk,
defrag, celan out files again, etc. When that did not work they said I need
to reinstall Windows.

DOES anyone know a fix for this???? I have read some similar problems
posted here.
