2 computers, 1 modem, and 1 router.

hi. I have a problem with the speed of my internet. I have 2 computers and a
cable modem connected to a router(Netgear WGR614 v7 54Mbps wireless router).

problem: when 2 computers are using internet(connected to a router) at the
same time it's really slow, when one computer is using an internet(when other
ones off) still connected to the router, it's also slow but bit faster, If I
connect the modem directly to one computer it's super fast.

I recently changed the company from AT&T to Time warner cable because I
heard that cable is faster than DSL so I thought it might be fast also on 2
computers, but it isnt.

Does anyone who experienced this and have solved this once before have
recommendation which better router to buy or how to fix this problem other
than ordering for another cable internet?

Check if there is a new firmware for the router.

How are both PCs connecting to the router? Both wireless, wired or
any combination of either wired/wireless?

You need to know that wireless signals do tend to "slow" down (my own
observations) when more than ONE PC is networking over the signals.

If you still wish to continue to use the wireless networking signals,
you should consider replacing the 54Mbps wireless equipement (adapters
and router) with the newer 300Mbps (802.11n) network devices.
