extremely slow computer after program installation

I installed a program from disk and everything worked
fine for a couple of days. Now windows is extremely
slow. Some xp options don't ever respond. I've tried
recovery and it doesn't fix the problem. I even
restarted under the diagnostic start up with only the
essential drivers and programs. Still no improvement.
Any help would be great I'm out of options.

Shawn, have you checked for virus, trojans and spyware? Did you try
uninstalling the program to see if things improve?
