Extracting a file from XP Pro CD

i had Win XP Pro installed, and was in the process of
getting microsoft updates installed when my pc locked up.
I rebooted it and now i get the following message : Can
not start Windows Xp, corrupt or missing the following
file <Windows root>\system32\ntoskrnl.exe please copy or
replace file. How do I extract that file and copy it to
the desired location being that I am not able to load
windows?
