I must begin by saying that your regedit advice for resolving the pesky
Search Companion vs. Windows Explorer problem has been outstanding.

But now I must ask how to delete the actions I added to the Folder Options
while I was fumbling around on my own for a solution. I tried 'Open2' as
'Open' was already taken. I used the command %SystemRoot%\explorer.exe
thinking it would take me to Windows Explorer but instead gave me annoying
error advisories.

Since I cannot edit / delete the new Open2 action, is it still
straightforward to delete it in the registry? If not, can you offer any
ideas?

Thank you very much for your help up to this point and more thanks in
advance for the help yet to come.

Since I cannot edit / delete the new Open2 action, is it still
Yes. Check these locations:

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Folder]
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory]
