My problem is - I installed an extra drive which is not
always recongnised by Windows XP. On boot up it is
sometimes identified by the BIOS and then other times it
is not.

Can anyone give me some advice.

Thanks

Dave

Hello

Do you have the drive jumpered correctly also maybe
the drive couild be bad,

Alvin

Check your bios for s.m.a.r.t. Should it be there
turn it on. I can diagnose your drive(s) and give
advanced warnings of disc failure.
Check the jumpers. With 2 drives if the original
is set cs ( cable select ) set the other the same
and plug it up to the loose end of the flat cable.
If the original was not set cs make sure it is now
set to master, the new one set to slave.
All drives now have a sticker on them showing
the jumpers and settings.
