extra cd drive

Hi again. If it's not one thing, it's another. In the past few days, I have
installed several new programs that have been sitting in my downloads
directory. Today, I noticed I have an extra CD Drive listed. Of course,
there isn't one there and nothing in the post screen to show that. In the
device manager, it's listed as an AXV CD/DVD Rom. If I go to the properties
menu within the device manager, the PC locks when I hit 'Cancel'. I have
tried removing it from the device manager but Windows (ME) detects new
hardware upon reboot. I have since uninstalled all the programs I have
recently installed, done a regclean with JV16 but the phantom device still
appears. What gives?

Yes, Alcohol 120 is installed. Actually, I uninstalled it and then removed
the drive but it still re-appears. Can I get rid of it?
