Hi

Weird litttle thing: On both my systems (W98 desktop with cable router
and XP laptop with wireless card, and the 2 are networked)

I am now showing an extra drive , on both.
XP laptop D:= dvd/cdr drive, E:= HPprinter with smart media slots, and
now shows F: up as a dvd drive.

Wasn't there after I hooked up the router and wireless and networked.
(That was 3 weeks ago and everything has been working fine)

The same additional new cd type drive appears on the desktop too as O:
(C-J are partitions, K cd rom, L internal cdr burner, M Zip and N dig
camera docking )

Can't explore the new drives on either sys, just says not ready or
insert disk.

Any ideas?

Oh yeah, after doing the wireless, the neighbor's pc is showing up in
my net. Could it be his cd rom?
Thanks

If you have installed such programs as Nero 6.0 or other
burning software it may have created a virtual CD image
drive. If you are able to create a IMAGE of a cd, you
can load this IMAGE into your extra CD drive and run the
image as if it was the original CD. Kind of handy in
some situations. Hope this helps!!! :D:D

Thanks. I did in fact install Nero 6.0, but this didn,t appear for a
couple weeks after.Unless it didn't show until I used Nero in some
way. I did recently make 6 copies of a medical cd for work last week,
but the new drive didn't show up til yesteday.

Can I remove it somehow?
