Ok guys, gonna rid myself of this damned trojan 'about:blank'. Someone
please give me the order in which to add protective software after XP reload
and before internet connection. I have Norton Internet Security (and Zone
Alarm/AVG/Pop-up Stopper if needed). Do I need a specific anti-spyware app
also?

That one has a specific program to use - CW Shredder. The malware
unfortunately comes out all too often in variant versions, and it is a
struggle to keep up. But if that fails to find something to fix, use
HiJack This and save a log to post to HijackThis Logs:

No software can protect you from yourself.

1. Read the docs ie just dont click YES I read them before you install
any new software. Most all spyware/etc ware these days SPECIFICALLY
tells you they will intsall sypware.

2. Dont install viruses or trojans.

3. Use either a hardware or software firewall or even both. ps I use
both because my son is in his discover mode and opens up ports on the
router
