Export Outlook Address book

I am using Outlook 2000. I would like to export my outlook address book (not
the contact list) to a disk. When I am in the address book and click on the
file menu the Export / Import options are both unavailable to choose (grayed
out). I have already exported contacts but the groups didn't come over which
is why I would like to export the address book. Can you help me?

The Contact folder IS the Outlook Address Book. You export Contacts.
Distribution lists will, indeed, export.

The question, however, is to what application you trying to export. If it's
another instance of Outlook, you DON'T EXPORT. Simply copy your PST (with
Outlook closed) to the other instance and open it in that Outlook with
File>Open>Outlook Data File. If you wish to be more selective, create a new
PST (File>New>Outlook Data File). Then right-click Contacts, choose Copy
and specify the new PST as the destination. Close the new PST and exit
Outlook. Then transfer that PST to the other Outlook and open it as
described above.

Actually, DL's won't export. They fail 100% of the time in IMO and more than
half the time from C/W. Copying and reusing the PST is the only way to
preserve DL's, and even then only if you're lucky.
