Cannot export Address Book

I cannot export my address book from the open Address Book Window because
that option is grayed out (under File/Export)
But I can export the address book from the Outlook main window by going to
File/Export to a File/ Comma Separated Values (Windows)
Exporting the Contacts folder as a pst file seems to work okay, too.

Why won't the export work from the Address Book Window?
Is this normal?
Is there a better way?

Because there is no Address Book in Outlook. The "address book" is just a
view of your Contacts.
You export Contacts.

I guess what threw me off is that I have a file on my C drive called WAB and
I think it is the Web Addresss Book.
How can I make a current copy of that?

That's the Windows Address Book that's used by Outlook Express. Make a copy
of it by copying it with Windows Explorer.
