Export from Access 2002 to Excel (any version)

Dates and numbers show as text rather than numeric fields in Excel, its like
the cells are inactive. The only way to re-format the fields in Excel is to
use an equation like Data or Number + 1 - 1 to get it to read as numeric.
Access fields are properly data typed as date / numeric double

Which way are you exporting?

I just tested a simple Table using File / Export from A2002 to Excel 97-2002
file format and both numbers and dates are correct when the exported Excel
file is opened in Excel 2002.

Try copying the data in the Access table and pasting it into Excel 2002. The
data may look formated correctly, but if its a number ex. 100, 200 and you
try to sum it excel, you get zero.
