Yo,

Windows explorer is no longer functioning properly.
When I click on 'My Computer', the window appears, then
goes blank. The computer then slows down considerably: the
CPU seems to be occupied with explorer, and as a result, I
have to reboot. Some help would be appreaciated.

Hello!
you haven't mentioned your system spcifications-specially
memory.
Test it in safe mode.
Go to Event viewer and check whther there is any error log.
scan with antivirus with latest virus definition/adware/spybot.
