Explorer won't recognise CD changes?

For some odd reasom my PC running XP Home has suddenly decided not to
recognise any CD change in Explorer OR autoplay either? This is
happening on both a CD and DVD drive. Odd thing is that if I open DVD
Shrink for example and go to the drives, it shows the correct label
names!!

Any ideas please?

TIA

It may be a fouled up autoplay setting, so that the autoinsert
notification is being lost. Microsoft people have written an unofficial
fix up tool for Autoplay. Without great confidence, I suggest you try
it - it is not on a MSoft site, but can be downloaded from
Http://www.bigblackglasses.com/staff/downloads/autofix.exe

Ref: CD in Explorer - shows previous CD - will not refresh
