Explorer will not open

Hi there,

I have explorer 6 and windows XP home.

About a week ago I was on a web site and my explorer just
flashed closed. Since that time I have been unable to open
Explorer, it acts like it tries to open for a few seconds
then nothing happens. I have run ad-aware and spy bot. I
went through Housecall it shows no virus.

I downloaded exlorer again thinking maybe I had a bad
file, but when it runs it says that there is a newer
version installed and the insall can not continue.

I went to my add/remove section and it doesnt even show
explorer listed as a program so I can not run the repair.

I tried to do a system recovery and it tells me the system
can not be restored to that date, I have tried several
dates always with the same result.

I'm pulling out my hair and I dont like the other browsers
I have. Any help anyone can give would be great!

Try CWShredder from http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/downloads.html

Were Ad-aware and Spybot updated before you used them? Both are updated
frequently.

If unsuccessful with CWShredder and Ad-aware and Spybot, go to
