Internet Explorer will not load

B

BrokenHalo

Running Windows XP Pro.

Internet Explorer will not load at all. I have tried running from Task
Manager also
with no luck. I see the Explorer window starting to load but it immediately
disappears. The task cannot be found on Task Manager after I try so I know
it's not up and running somewhere off screen or in the taskbar.
I have tried uninstalling and re-installing but I get the same issue.
Is there some way I can repair Internet Explorer?
I have tried using the system disk to look for anything of the sort but I am
finding nothing.

Please help!

Hi,
It's likely that another program is causing this- possibly legitimate-
possibly malware.

[XP SP2]
From IE> Tools> Manage add-ons. Disable non-microsoft add-ons to
see if one of them is the culprit.
[Non SP2]
Internet Options> Advanced> uncheck "Enable third-party browser
extensions." If either of these helps, you still need to find the
troublesome program. BHO or add-on.

The troublesome program may not show up as an add-on. Disable other
security, privacy, ad-blocking, appearance tweaking programs to see if one
of them is causing the problem. Any program that interacts with Internet
Explorer could be causing this.

* Important *
A firewall will probably not be causing this problem, but be sure to turn on
the Windows Firewall from Control Panel> Windows Firewall before disabling a
third-party firewall or security suite during testing.

This may be a malware problem- adware, spyware, hijacker, trojan, etc.
