Explorer problem

I have noticed something that happens on my computer recently and it is
bothering me quite a bit. What's happening is that after I have used
internet explorer for a while, and after that try and right click an icon on
my desktop or anywhere, it freezes. The hour glass symbols stays and the
right click menu doesn't appear.

When it does it is something like 20 seconds later but sometimes never
appears. I noticed this doesn't happen when I am offline. I have
disallowed access to the internet from my firewall for windows explorer. Is
it trying to access the internet? Can anyone help me? I noticed that also
office programs sometimes take a while to open when I am online.

Allow Windows Explorer to access Internet. I have Zonealarm, and after changing the settings for Explorer in 'program control' the <freezes> where gone.

Start by looking in your firewall and system log files
for hints. Otherwise, not enouigh info.

And, first, have you looked at the Task Manager to see
if anyting shows up there? It's CTRL-ALT-DEL to get to
it.
