Explorer Problem

I downloaded Microsoft Explorer 7 and it was snailpace at opening web
sites. I then discovered that at least a 233 MHTZ processor was
recommended while mine is only 200MGTZ. I uninstalled Explorer 7 and
now am back to Explorer 6. However it has not regained the speed that
it operated at before and is still very slow. I have deleted temp
internet files and cleared the history I also restored the system to
the day before I downloaded 7 all to no avail.
My operating system is XP Professional.
Would appreciate and suggestions.

I have trouble believing that your system ever ran faster than a "snails
pace" if it has a 200 MHz processor.
Are you *sure* that is what you have?

Start --> Control Panel --> System
Under the "General" tab, under the "Computer:" section, what does it say?

Also, you may want to install/run Belarc Advisor.

After running it (agreeing, etc) - you could copy parts of it out to post
here, like these sections:
(Whatever is under the titles, before the next titled section actually..)

- Operating System
- Processor
- Memory Modules
- Local Drive Volumes

Then we will have a better idea of what we have to work with.

you can run msinfo32 from the run line
and get details about your hardware.

you can also download a process monitor
from sysinternals.com or
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sysinternals/processesandthreads/processmonitor.mspx
to see which process is bogging down your system.

what might help as well is to use the
add/remove components under add/remove
programs and uninstall the browser and whatever
else you want. Reboot, then go back in the
add/remove and install the browser again....
