Explorer Problem! Please Help

I recently turned off my computer because it completely froze up after an internet program stopped responding and I couldn't do anything. When I turned the computer back on the start menu would just flash and wouldn't open. Also, none of the desktop icons would show up. I hit ctrl+alt+delete to find that explorer.exe was taking up 100% of my computer usage, and the only way I could even get on this discussion board to talk about it was to end the explorer.exe process and open the internet through task manager. If anyone could tell me any possible fixes explorer I'd really appreciate it. Thanks for your help.

Hi Kevin M,

Chek to see if you have malware on your computer:

Try downloading, installing and updating the
spyware removers from the links below. Run both of them.

Ad-aware
http://www.lavasoftusa.com/support/download/

Spybot S&D
http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?lang=en&page=download

If these don't correct the problem, then get yourself a copy of
BHODemon, available at
http://www.definitivesolutions.com/bhodemon.htm .

It does not need installing - simply unzip and run the EXE program. It
is easy to use. It will find the hijackware DLL files, and give you
the ability to disable them.

Hope this helps.
