explorer not responding?

hi

recently my internet explorer 6sp2 has been very erratic .when i try to
click on a 'link' i get a hand figure for my cursor and at the top of the
page "explorer not responding".
coincidence or not this has been happening since i joined Broadband. (one
week)
im running windows xp pro,P4 1.6gh.
ive ran spybot-Adaware,and other programs but detected no spyware ,malware.
any help will be greatly appreciated.

thankyou very much for your reply.i tried as you said but i now have noticed
when i click on the 'links ,on the bottom of the page there seems to be a
popup blocker come upwith a green strip through it .but i cannot seem to find
where its coming from .(sorry ,im a newbee).

Try right-clicking on that. What do you see then?

BTW have you tried using IE Help? Press F1, Alt-S and enter:
"Pop-up Blocker" (including the quotes).
