I recently reinstalled my os due to a virus and ever since I did explorer keeps freezing up. I have noticed that if I open task manager and click the processes tab that there are multiple images of iexplore.exe. When I close all but the one that is in use(?) explorer goes back to running smooth. I reinstalled all the windows updates after reinstalling the os, so I don't believe that is the problem. I have also tried searching the Windows XP support site, but I do not know how to word the question, as you can tell by the length of this post. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated

Thank You

Nate

Nate,
This is probably a spyware / parasite problem.

I would download and run, in this order:

CWShredder http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/downloads.html

Then download, install, *update* and run both of these programs:
Ad-aware from http://www.lavasoft.de/software/adaware/
Spybot from http://security.kolla.de/ (Remove items listed in red-others are
optional.)
Both programs should be updated after installation- before use.
