Explorer Freezes when I open up favorites menu

Well, this started a couple of weeks ago as something bothersome and now I
don't even know what I've done. All I know is that if I go to use my
favorites menu the whole window freezes up.
 
boot to Safe Mode, and delete the file 'Index.dat', in your favorites
folder.
