explorer freezes up

Whenever I enter a typed message such as I am doing now,
or type an address or such in a field, when I enter the
information my computer freezes for app. 20 seconds. It
does this everytime I enter information. This just started
happening. How do I fix this? Maybe reinstall explorer?
