explorer.exe keeps crashing

I have a W2K @ SP4 with IE Explorer V6 @ SP1 and I keep
experiencing an explorer.exe crash when ever it is
accessed either directly (eg: from task bar tray icon or
from start/programs/<menu> item) or indirectly through an
application (eg file direcotry when saving a document in
word)

I have already looked in knowledge base but noting that
matches my environment or symptoms shows up.

I have virus checked using the latest dat files so am
confident its not a virus.

Can anybody help!!!

Try Start | run | regsvr32 /u thumbvw.dll | OK If it works great. Come back and I'll tell you how to get thumbview back and keep the issue from happening. But first I need to know if it helps. If it doesn't then do Start | Run | regsvr32 thumbvw.dll | OK and you are right back where you were before you followed my suggestion.
