Every time I try to open my history folder from explorer
or any other form, I get the error message that
explorer.exe has genereated an error, and then the window
closes.
I've tried searching the KB, but that was a great load of
help. No search result had any relevence to my search
topic. So that failed.

Now I'm thinking I may be infected..
Can anyone shed some light on this please.

Is this a known issue, is this fixable..
Is this common?

thanks.

Thank you very much for the response Kelly. :)
Infortunately the history folder will still crash
when I try to open it.

I did clean it out via internet options, but it's weird,
because lately instead of having a history of mon through
sun, I only get a history of 'todays' browsing.

So, it didn't work?
Any other ideas.. :)

Most welcome, Drake. If per chance you are using McAfee:

I have seen this behavior caused by McAfee and from the date and time being
incorrect. Checkpoints and Suggestions:

Check to be sure that your date and time is correct. Also, if you are using
McAfee, this will help:

McAfee gave this solution to the bug where VirusScan 6 stops your
Internet Explorer History file working.

Open VirusScan console
Select "Pick a task..."
Select "Change my VirusScan settings"
Select "Configure VShield background scanning"
Select "Customise your VShield settings"

Select the "Internet Filter" icon from the icons down the left hand side On
the "Detection" tab, in the 'Applet filters' section, remove the tick next
to "ActiveX Controls".

If this is not the case, run this edit:

Prevent IE History from Being Removed - Undo (Line 101)
