When I try to start my computer, I receive an error message saying:
Explorer.EXE - Entry Point Not Found
The procedure entry point mciSendCommandA could not be
located in
dynamic link library WINMM.dll
I have no idea how this happened. I just shut down my computer and, when I
tried to turn it back on, it gave me this message. Now, it will load the
desktop wallpaper, but that's it. Can anyone help or does anyone have an
idea about what's going on?

Well, it sounds like people have had similar problems, so it could very well
work. But, I cannot access the desktop and Start menu, which eliminates a
few options. If anyone can send any other info, please do. For the
meantime, I'll try one of these. If it doesn't work, thanks anyways.

Adrien,

-Hold down 'Ctrl' & 'Alt' keys & press the 'Delete' key

-Click 'File' > New Task (Run)

-Type explorer.exe & press the 'Enter' key

Are you still receiving the error & did the Start menu & desktop apps show?

Also,

-Go to location 'C:\WINDOWS\ServicePackFiles\i386', right-click & 'copy'
file winmm.dll

-Go to location C:\WINDOWS\system32, right-click & 'paste' the file into the
System32 folder

(click 'Yes' to overwrite the current winmm.dll file)

-Reboot, Good Luck

Drew

Thanks for the info. But, I tried it and it said that it can not be 'pasted'
because 'another person or program was using it'. I don't know what it's
talking about. So, if anyone has any other info, please paste.
