explorer.exe error at startup

I'm using Windows XP home edition with SP2. When I start my computer the
desktop only displays my wallpaper but does not show the taskbar or any of my
icons. If I go into task manager and end process on explorer.exe and then
run it again manually everything comes up normally, but when I restart my
computer I have the same problem. What can I do to correct this?

Hi, I have almost the same problem.

When I start up, my wallpaper and desktop icons appear but I get the
hourglass and it stays FOREVER! Can't click on any folders/icons. When I hit
CRTL+ALT+DEL it does not show that explorer is not responding. Trying to run
a task freezes (when tried before endind explorer and running it again) and
if I hit CRTL+ALT+DEL again it says that task manager is not responding.

I visited the website below but I still have to manually run explorer
everytime I restart.. HELP?!?!

I'm running XP pro if that helps..

Thanks in advance

Lusc
