Application popup: explorer.exe - Application Error : The instruction at
"0x66006041" referenced memory at "0x66006041". The memory could not be
"read".

Does anyone know how I can correct this (short of reformatting or resorting
to true image)

I should add that this popup occurs on every boot and most all openings of
applications or opening admin tools such as event viwer.

I most recently saw this sort of thing with an (expired) anti-virus
installation. Removing the A/V app and restarting ended the problem. I
then installed another, less intrusive, A/V app.

after windows update (cumulative update won't install) I get this error now:

Application popup: broadcast.exe - Application Error : The instruction at
"0x00401158" referenced memory at "0x00000008". The memory could not be
"read".

Ok well, I guess no one has ever had this problem. I don't know why this is
a solution but somehow it works I don't have the problem anymore. I installed
this: http://www.pssoftlab.com/pstf_info.phtml
